220 Twelfth Avenue · Chelsea, Manhattan40.7498° N / 74.0070° W
Overview
Cavernous West Side club built around a former railroad tunnel, remembered for large-scale house and hip-hop nights.
Named for the disused railroad infrastructure it was built around, Tunnel is remembered for its scale and its long-running house and hip-hop programming through the 1990s. It is often cited within accounts of the West Chelsea club corridor before the neighborhood's later redevelopment.
