Studio 54
Overview
Midtown disco synonymous with celebrity spectacle and a famously selective door. The building now operates as a theater.
Built inside a former television and opera studio, Studio 54 is associated with celebrity culture, theatrical staging, and a notoriously selective door policy. It is often cited as a defining image of the disco era. The space has since been transformed and today operates as a Broadway theater, making it a clear example of nightlife architecture absorbed back into other uses.
