Biography

Sharon White is often cited as a barrier-breaking figure in New York nightlife — a Black lesbian DJ remembered as the first woman to headline both The Saint and the Paradise Garage, and frequently described as the only DJ to have spun at both. A trained percussionist and radio engineer, she is also reported to have been Billboard's first female DJ reporter.
